The 12 Best Testimonial Questions to Ask at Your Corporate Event
Most testimonial videos fail before the camera rolls — because no one prepared the questions. After filming hundreds of corporate testimonials in Nashville and across the country, here are the exact questions that get real, usable answers every time.
Questions that open people up
- "What was the one moment from today that you'll still be talking about next week?"
- "If a colleague asked you why they should attend next year, what would you tell them?"
- "What surprised you most about this event?"
- "How has today changed the way you think about [topic/industry]?"
- "What's one thing you're taking back to your team on Monday?"
Questions that generate quotable soundbites
- "Complete this sentence: I came to this event expecting X, but what I got was..."
- "In one word, how would you describe the energy in that room today?"
- "What would you tell someone who was on the fence about attending?"
- "What does [your company/organization] mean to you personally?"
Pro tips before you start rolling
- Brief your speakers 10 minutes before — nervous people give stiff answers. A quick preview of the questions relaxes them immediately.
- Ask them to repeat the question in their answer. "What surprised me most was..." reads much better in an edit than a dangling "Yeah, definitely."
- Always ask one more question than you need. The best soundbite is almost always the last one, when they've relaxed.
